Title: Sunday Rain
Author: Rosie Pova
Illustrator: Amariah Rauscher
Age: 5-8
For my first review of 2021, I’ve been invited to join author’s Rosie Pova’s blog tour for her gorgeous new picture book Sunday Rain, due for release in March!
Elliott has recently moved to a new home and he’s quite happy immersing himself in the pages of a book and imagining he’s part of the adventures within the pages. So when his mother suggests he goes outside to play in the rain, he’s not sure, especially as he’s the shy new kid in the neighbourhood. However, Elliott soon joins in with the games of the other children, makes new friends, and experiences wild fantasy adventures.
This book is a beautiful story of friendship, imagination and finding joy in life’s small pleasures. It really pulled at my heartstrings and made me nostalgic for childhood!
The soft watercolour illustrations are stunning, and perfectly suit the gentle tone of the story.

Sunday Rain will be released on March 2, 2020. Many thanks to Rosie Pova for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
